In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
- "altuseer," "we," "us," or "our" refers to altuseer Luxury Car Rental, a vehicle rental service operating in Taiwan
- "Customer," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or entity renting a vehicle from us
- "Vehicle" refers to any car, SUV, or other automobile rented from altuseer
- "Rental Agreement" refers to the contract formed between you and altuseer for the rental of a vehicle
- "Services" refers to our vehicle rental and related services
- "Rental Period" refers to the time from vehicle pickup to vehicle return
By booking a rental, using our website, or accepting delivery of a vehicle, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and altuseer. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes become effective upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
To rent a vehicle from altuseer, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 23 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license that has been held for at least two years
- For international visitors, hold a valid International Driving Permit or a Taiwanese translation of your license
- Provide a valid credit card in your name for payment and security deposit
- Provide valid government-issued photo identification
We reserve the right to verify your credentials and refuse service if requirements are not met.
4.1 Reservation Process
Reservations may be made through our website, by phone, or by email. All bookings are subject to vehicle availability. A reservation is confirmed only when you receive written confirmation from us.
4.2 Payment
Payment is required at the time of booking or vehicle pickup, as specified in your rental agreement. We accept major credit cards. Payment includes the rental fee, any optional services you select, applicable taxes, and a refundable security deposit.
4.3 Security Deposit
A security deposit will be authorized on your credit card at the time of vehicle pickup. The deposit amount varies by vehicle type and rental duration. The deposit will be released within 14 business days of vehicle return, subject to inspection and resolution of any claims.
5.1 Customer Cancellations
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time: Full refund
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup time: 50% refund of rental fees
- Cancellations made within 24 hours or no-shows: No refund
5.2 altuseer Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel a reservation due to vehicle unavailability, maintenance issues, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will provide a full refund and, where possible, offer an alternative vehicle of equal or greater value.
6.1 Permitted Use
You agree to use the vehicle only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. The vehicle may only be driven by authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement.
6.2 Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Use the vehicle for racing, testing, or any competitive driving
- Use the vehicle to transport goods for hire or reward
- Use the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Use the vehicle to tow or push other vehicles or objects
- Use the vehicle for any illegal purpose
- Allow unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle
- Smoke in the vehicle
- Transport pets without prior authorization
6.3 Vehicle Care
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining appropriate fluid levels (oil, coolant, windshield washer)
- Ensuring tire pressure is adequate
- Keeping the vehicle clean and in good condition
- Reporting any mechanical issues or damage immediately
- Using the correct fuel type as specified in the vehicle documents
7.1 Included Coverage
All rentals include comprehensive insurance coverage provided by our insurance partners. This includes:
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
- Third-Party Liability coverage
- Theft Protection
7.2 Liability Limitations
You remain liable for:
- Damage caused by violations of this agreement
- Damage to tires, wheels, windshield, or undercarriage (unless additional coverage is purchased)
- Interior damage or excessive cleaning fees
- Parking fines, traffic violations, or toll charges incurred during the rental
- Loss of keys or vehicle documents
7.3 Accidents and Damage
In the event of an accident or damage, you must:
- Contact local authorities and file a police report
- Notify altuseer immediately
- Provide all relevant documentation and information
- Cooperate with insurance claims processes
- Not admit liability or make any agreements with third parties without our consent
8.1 Rental Duration
The rental period begins at the scheduled pickup time and ends at the scheduled return time specified in your rental agreement. Late returns without prior authorization may incur additional charges.
8.2 Extensions
If you wish to extend your rental period, you must contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and may require additional payment and documentation.
8.3 Early Returns
No refunds are provided for early returns unless exceptional circumstances are approved by altuseer management in writing.
Vehicles are provided "as is" with no warranties beyond those provided by the vehicle manufacturer. While we thoroughly inspect and maintain all vehicles, we do not guarantee that vehicles will be error-free or uninterrupted in operation. We are not responsible for:
- Delays or disruptions to your travel plans
- GPS navigation errors or map inaccuracies
- Personal property left in the vehicle
- Mechanical failures occurring despite proper maintenance
To the maximum extent permitted by law, altuseer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising from your rental shall not exceed the total amount paid for the rental.
This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
You agree to indemnify and hold altuseer, its owners, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the vehicle, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or regulation.
We reserve the right to terminate your rental and reclaim the vehicle without refund if:
- You violate any term of this agreement
- You provide false or misleading information
- The vehicle is used in a manner that we reasonably believe poses a safety or legal concern
- Payment is declined or charged back
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Taiwan. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your rental shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, the parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation.
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with your rental agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and altuseer regarding your rental.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
14.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this agreement without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
